We are getting closer...

So Baby JD is ready to show up any day now! The doctors set his due date at February 26th but are pretty positive that he is NOT going to wait that long! :) We are starting to take bets on when we he coming Seth has high hopes that we will be here this week while I am still holding out that he will come sometime between now and Valentines day!

All of the doctors visits have been going well, he tends to sleep more now, which makes the Nurse who is monitoring him kinda not so happy. But the doctor says that my Cervix dropped 50% (which might be TMI for some, but oh well!) which means that he is getting ready to come!

As for being ready...well we are as ready as I think we are going to be! We are going to find that we are going to need some more blankets and things like that for sure but we at least have a starting point! :) His room is 99% done, the only thing left to do is get his dresser/changing table finished and in his room! At the guys have to do is finish putting the faces on the drawers and then we will be done!!My parents bought us a crib and a crib set and Seth of course put it together for me the same night we got it! :)
The room turned out perfect, it is a travel theme and couldn't be any cuter! Of course we are still getting some of the little things finished up here and there but overall we are happy!

Seth is working again!! He got a part time job at a Valero Gas Station here in Modesto. It isn't perfect but it is income and his new bosses are awesome people! They totally understand that he wants to be there when JD is born and are totally flexible with the situation! We are just glad that he is working again even though it is taking some adjusting to with all my health stuff...but we are making it work! :)

Our next baby appointment with the doctor is on Friday but we have monitoring on Tuesday to listen to his little heartbeat! So I am thinking that we will do another update sometime after that...figuring of course that we arent having a baby! :)

Life at the Asylum

So here is our attempt to keep everyone (who isn't a Myspace or Facebook addict, not that its a bad thing, Power to the Nerds!!) updated about what is going on in our little family! I will try my best to update it at least once a month with pictures and fun things that are going on, but no promises! Now...where to start...at the beginning I guess!

We got married on April 28th, 2007 on THE hottest day! Still the day turned out really nice! Since then we have lived in an apartment where our landlady was a little off her rocker...then we moved into a house that we were renting. The guy who owned the house lived right next door and ended up being a really not so nice guy and stole a bunch of money from us and screwed us HARD! About the same time that we found out or landlord was screwing us we found out we were pregnant!! (This is all happening in December of 2007) With the landlord screwing us we really had no where to go... and Seth's work told him that they were getting rid of his position due to a lack of funding...Luckily my parents took us in and told me not to stress! We lived at the Camacho house from January till September. In February we lost the little baby that we were carrying...the doctors don't know why...

Seth started working for ACE and everything was starting to come together! We were starting to be able to pay the bills, we had health insurance (which for me is ALWAYS important) and we were starting to look for our own place! In June we got some more great news!! We were pregnant again, only this time I had to be on bed rest so we didn't lost the baby...So I had to quit my job and start being a full time mom. Then in October we made another move!

The move this time was to Modesto into a house that we bought with Seth's parents. It is kinda out in the country but still relatively close to the city stuff so we have the best of both worlds! The house is a three bedroom two bath house that I am pretty sure was built for a midget cause everything is really low! For me the low things aren't that bad cause I am generally short but for Seth and his parents they tend to be a challenge. The house has two living rooms and a HUGE backyard, the property is just shy of an acre. Right now Shannon and Dwain (Seth's parents) are staying in the master bedroom and we have one room and the other is set up for the baby! The plan is to build a back house where Seth's parents will live and we will live in the main house, this plan however is exactly that right now... only a plan.

So now we are WAY pregnant and expecting little Jonathan Dwain to arrive anytime now even though his due date is February 26th. JD is getting bigger and bigger all the time, we know this because we visit the doctors office 2 times a week for monitoring. Monitoring is a 30-45 minute process where they watch his heartbeat and see how much he is moving around that way they can see if he goes into distress or if there is anything wrong with him. Some may be thinking...Geez why are they watching the baby so closely? Well here is why...

Why I was REALLY little I had seizures and we thought they went away, I grew out of them or something. Well about a week before Thanksgiving I had a Seizure in the Walmart parking lot. The crazy thing about it all is I don't remember much about it all I know is that I was REALLY lucky! The last thing I remember was waiting for a little old lady wearing a gold hat to load her stuff in her car so I could get her parking spot...the next thing I remember I was in the back of an ambulance surrounded by EMTs. As it turns out I managed to finish waiting for the lady, park the car, and get out of the car and all the way to the back of it before I fell to the ground shaking...yep a full blown seizure! My Mother-in-law was with me and she doesn't get down to the ground so well so she called for help and a lady called 911 while an off duty nurse, a retired firefighter, and another useful person helped deal with me. Apparently I stopped shaking just as the firefighters and ambulance showed up and it was at this time that I started asking for Seth...then when they told me that he wasn't there I told them I wanted my mom and even gave them her cell phone number to call! Like I said...I dont remember any of this... I came to on a backboard in an ambulance...BIG change from waiting for a little old lady...Liz (Seth's sister) Drove him back to Manteca from San Jose (where he was waiting to take the train back home cause that's his job) and my dad drove back to Manteca as soon as he could as well, me mom was to the ER in no time flat and Shannon showed up too.

Well...the doctors didn't know why I had the seizure but did some tests and didn't really find anything...they watched me and the baby for 24 hours and then let me go home. Everything was fine, I had a bunch of doctors appointments to go to so we could have testing set up but we kinda figured that it was a freak thing, nothing to worry about! Well the day before my birthday (December 3rd) Seth, his mom, and me were going somewhere...honestly I couldn't tell you where... and we were in the car headed toward the freeway when it happened again...I had a seizure in the backseat of the car. Again I don't remember anything...Seth tells me that I just started bobbing my head and then started shaking, the shaking lasted for like a minute or so and then it stopped and I just fell to one side (held up mostly by my seat belt) Seth got on the freeway and went the 2 exits to the hospital where I guess I got out of the car walked into the Emergency Room and checked myself in... I came to in a hospital bed in the Labor and Delivery department...

So this time they ran some more tests and found out that my right frontal part of my brain is what is malfunctioning...The doctors decided that putting me on seizure medication would be the best thing to do, so we started me on a newer medication called Keppra. The drug is so new they don't really know how it will affect the baby at all so that is why we are at the doctors so much and doing all the monitoring. The medication has taken me from full Blown seizures to what we are calling blackouts...blackouts aren't really bad for the baby cause he gets everything he need they just aren't really good for me. Now I am on watch all the time...I cant drive until I am free of any blackouts and/or seizures for 3-6 months and have to have someone with me most all the time just in case of a blackout.

So while everything isn't ready for the baby we are well on our way to getting there! The baby's room looks really nice with the Crib my mom and dad got us and all the bedding. Even though there are tons of things we still need (like bottles and blankets and things like that) we are going to somehow make it work!

If you know of anywhere that is hiring let us know cause we are looking for work for Seth...Not to many people want to hire someone who is 8 months pregnant and has seizures but Seth can sooooo work! Hopefully something will come through soon so we can pay the bills next month...somehow it will all work out though, it always seems to! So that's pretty much it for now, I will try and post pictures of the baby's room and other such fun things soon!!
